Volunteer Information

Volunteer Training Sessions

Volunteer Training Sessions will be held on Saturday, May 6th at Spain Park High School (4700 Jaguar Dr, Birmingham 35242). We kindly ask that all volunteers attend the Training Session for their assigned committee. Volunteers will also have the opportunity to pick up their Volunteer Uniform Package at the Uniform Distribution during the Training Sessions.

Junior Volunteers

Junior Volunteers ages 13-17 also have the opportunity to volunteer at the tournament by serving as a Standard Bearer. Standard Bearers have the exciting role of walking inside of the ropes with a player group while carrying a two-sided scoring standard to keep spectators informed of who is playing in the group and how the player stands with respect to par both in the round being played and cumulatively. Standard Bearer positions are available Wednesday-Sunday during the tournament. Junior Volunteers do not have to purchase the Volunteer Package. They will receive a complimentary t-shirt and hat to wear upon arriving for their first shift.


Volunteers are assigned to a variety of committees, performing the many tasks required to conduct a PGA TOUR Champions event. A description of each committee is available for your review prior to your selection of committee choices on the online Volunteer Application. Each volunteer is given the opportunity to list three committee preferences. Volunteers will be notified of their committee assignment through email once the Volunteer Application is completed. Committee assignments are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Read the various job committee descriptions here.  

Shifts and Schedules

All volunteers are required to work a minimum of 3 shifts over the course of the tournament. Shifts are approximately 4-6 hours long, but can vary depending on the committee. On the online application, you will have the opportunity to select your availability. Please note, these times are not your final schedule, but will serve as a starting point for your Committee Chairman as they create a shift schedule. Once shift assignments have been made, volunteers will be available to view their personal schedule through their volunteer online profile. Volunteer schedules will be completed in early April 2017.

Refer A Friend Promotion

Take advantage of the new Refer a Friend Promotion! Any registered and paid volunteer who refers a friend or family member to volunteer, will be entered into a drawing to win an Honorary Observer Experience for Two at the 2017 Regions Tradition. Honorary Observers will enjoy the experience of a lifetime -- walking inside the ropes with PGA TOUR Champions players during tournament play.

To qualify for the Refer a Friend Promotion, the friend or family member MUST include your name in the ‘Refer a Friend Promotion’ field on the online Volunteer Application.

Marshal Team Program

The newly added Marshal Team Program will give your company or organization the opportunity to volunteer together as a group by serving as Marshals during the Regions Tradition tournament. This fun, unique team-building opportunity promotes employee volunteerism and community involvement. Participating groups will receive special recognition for the company with signage stating "Hole Marshaled by (company name)". This opportunity is available on a first-come first-serve basis.
