Volunteer Information

Volunteers play a vital role in the success of the Regions Tradition tournament, which benefits over 80 local charities, including Children’s of Alabama, which serves as the primary beneficiary of the tournament! We will be enlisting the help of approximately 1,000 volunteers to work on various committees, but more importantly, we want to ensure that each individual has a once-in-a-lifetime experience! With volunteer positions available throughout the course, with the players, on the Driving Range and even inside of the ropes, volunteers will have a behind-the-scenes, unparalleled PGA TOUR Champions experience! There are over 20 different volunteer committees to choose from and we ask that all volunteers sign-up for a minimum of three shifts, approximately 4-6 hours each, throughout the week of the tournament. 2017 Volunteer Registration will open in November 2016.

Volunteer Package

Regions Tradition asks that all volunteers purchase a Volunteer Uniform Package. The Package fee helps the event subsidize the cost of the volunteer uniform, as well as all of the items in the package. As the goal of the tournament is to generate a significant sum to distribute to local charities, including Children’s of Alabama who serves as the primary beneficiary of the tournament.

  • Golf Shirt
  • Ball Cap or Visor
  • 2017 Volunteer Commemorative Pin
  • Drawstring Bag
  • Volunteer Credential (valid for entire week)
  • Lanyard
  • 5 Good-Any-One-Day Grounds tickets
  • Parking Pass
  • Meals provided for each volunteer shift

   Cost: $60 (retail value of $295) 

Package B:

  • Golf Shirt
  • Ball Cap or Visor
  • 2017 Volunteer Commemorative Pin
  • Drawstring Bag
  • Volunteer Credential (valid for entire week)

  • 5 Good-Any-One-Day Grounds tickets
  • Parking Pass
  • Meals provided for each volunteer shift
  • Round of golf at Greystone Golf & Country Club during a 2017 Volunteer Play Day. Non-transferable and non-refundable. $25 cart rental fee not included.

   Cost: $95 (retail value of $415)

Committees

Volunteers are assigned to a variety of committees, performing the many tasks required to conduct a PGA TOUR Champions event. A description of each committee is available for your review prior to your selection of committee choices on the online Volunteer Application. Each volunteer is given the opportunity to list three committee preferences. Volunteers will be notified of their committee assignment through email once the Volunteer Application is completed. Committee assignments are granted on a first-come, first-served basis. Read the various job committee descriptions here.  

Shifts and Schedules

All volunteers are required to work a minimum of 3 shifts over the course of the tournament. Shifts are approximately 4-6 hours long, but can vary depending on the committee. On the online application, you will have the opportunity to select your availability. Please note, these times are not your final schedule, but will serve as a starting point for your Committee Chairman as they create a shift schedule. Once shift assignments have been made, volunteers will be available to view their personal schedule through their volunteer online profile. Volunteer schedules will be completed in early April 2017.

Credentials

As a part of the volunteer package, each volunteer will receive a credential that will serve as a ticket to access the tournament during the days you are working as well as the days you are not scheduled to volunteer.
