COMMITTEE JOB DESCRIPTIONS
___ Access Control (3): Work in conjunction with Corporate Hospitality Committee and the contracted security company to ensure tournament guests have the proper credentials to enter various restricted areas.
___ Admissions: Sell and issue daily tickets, manage Will Call function and check tickets/credentials at admissions gates.
CLOSED Caddie Hospitality (1a, 1b): Handle caddie registration, distribution and collection of caddie bibs and provide information as needed. Volunteers on this committee will not serve as caddies during the tournament.
___ Communications: Responsible for the daily set-up and distribution of radios and cell phones.
__ Driving Distance: Responsible for measuring and recording shot data using survey grade lasers and a palm device. This information is then communicated to various parties throughout the golf course.
__ Disability Services: Assist spectators whose physical limitations prevent them from accessing the tournament course.
___ Golf Carts (1a, 1b): Control inventory and distribution of golf carts to authorized personnel.
CLOSED Junior Clinic: Organize and plan the details and logistics for the on-site Junior Clinic.
___ Leaderboards (3): Operate manual leaderboards and thru-boards at various sites throughout the course and post information received via handheld computer. May have to climb ladders and work on elevated platforms.
___ Marshals (3): Serve as a marshal to ensure players are not disturbed during play and enforce crowd control and golf etiquette among spectators.
___ Marshal Rovers (3): Responsible for escorting high profile players through crowds around the golf course. Volunteer must stay with player from time of arrival until he has completed his round. Also serve as a marshal to ensure players are not disturbed during play. Rovers are not assigned to a specific group/hole until the day of their shift.
___ Merchandise: Assist with various functions inside Merchandise Pavilion such as operating cash registers and customer service. Staff “Check Tent” for spectators to leave parcels that have been purchased in Merchandise Pavilion.
CLOSED Player Hospitality: Provide a broad range of concierge services to players as well as welcoming players and providing the necessary credential, answering general information questions and assisting with the Player Registration process.
CLOSED Player Locker Rooms: Duties include organizing nameplates on players’ lockers, showing players to their lockers, stocking Locker Room and necessary products and ensuring only individuals with proper credentials enter the Locker Room.
___ Player Refreshments (1a, 3): Stock and deliver on-course refreshments to tee boxes and distribute pairing sheets. May require heavy lifting.
CLOSED Practice Areas: Manage the operation of the Practice Range and all other practice areas. Duties include distributing range balls by brand and placing the appropriate nameplate to identify each player.
CLOSEDPro-Am Operations: Responsible for managing the operation of the Pro-Am Competition. Duties include gift bag assembly and distribution and registration of amateur players.
___ Sponsor Relations: Act as liaison and host to corporate clients in various hospitality areas.
___ Transportation (1a, 1b, 2): Receive, inventory and control issuance of courtesy cars. Meet players, officials and designated guests at airport and assist them with their transportation needs. Drive shuttle vehicles between hotels and course for player family members, officials and designated guests. Must be over 25 years of age and have a valid driver’s license.
CLOSED_ TV Spotters: Assist the Golf Channel in updating scoring information for TV Coverage.
___ Volunteer Headquarters (1a): Responsible for the operation of the volunteer headquarters during Tournament Week.
CLOSED Volunteer Orientation & Uniforms: Assist with set-up for all orientation sessions and volunteer uniform distribution and exchange.
__ Walking Scorers: Record accurate hole-by-hole information for each player in group and transmit this information to Scoring Central via handheld computers. Must have thorough knowledge of golf, be comfortable working with handheld computer and be able to walk 18 holes regardless of weather conditions.
